Prefinished hardwood flooring is sold by full cartons.
The amount of squarefootage you need is calculated and rounded to the next full carton.
The carton size depends on the width of your prefinished hardwood flooring.

The precision milling and quality control/defecting procedures we employ enables us to provide product consistency to our customers and keeps our recommended waste factor to a low level of 5%.
Waste factor 5%! Add it!
Prefinished hardwood flooring and wood paneling is sold by the square foot. The square footage is the actual measurement of the area to be covered by hardwood flooring. A waste factor of 5% must be added to the amount of square footage of hardwood flooring needed to allow for cutting waste. For example, if you have a 10 x 10 foot room =100 sq. ft., then 5% of 100 is 5 sq. ft. You will need to purchase 105 sq. ft. in order to have enough hardwood flooring and/or wood paneling.

Waste factor 10%! Add it!
However, if your room is not a typical shape, you should add a 10 % waste factor. This higher waste factor will allow for some overage that may be necessary later. If the quantity purchased is insufficient, delays will result in awaiting the goods to complete the job. Also, you may need some material for a repair; therefore, it is beneficial to have some prefinished hardwood flooring
and/or wood paneling left over.
